Carpenter & Joiner - Job Opportunity
A great opportunity has become available for an on?site Carpenter & Joiner based in the Oakham area.
This is a full?time position working 39 hours per week across a 7?day rota. The role includes working 1 in every 3 weekends, with an additional 15% allowance added to the basic salary for weekend work.
Salary: £29,009 - £35,015, depending on experience.
Role Overview
The Carpenter & Joiner will play a key role in delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a busy facilities environment. This includes a wide range of joinery and carpentry tasks, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
The position also supports broader environmental and zero?carbon initiatives as part of the organisation's long?term sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring Health & Safety standards are upheld across all work areas
- Completing joinery tasks including the repair of doors, windows, signposts, formwork, and other bespoke timber items
- Overseeing the joinery workshop, including machine maintenance, statutory inspections, organisation and cleanliness
- Planning and organising daily work activities with the supervisor
- Recording and submitting details of completed work via relevant work order systems
- Measuring and preparing quotations for work
- Ordering materials and maintaining stock of building and maintenance supplies
- Supporting zero?carbon and sustainability programmes where appropriate
- Carrying out additional reasonable duties as directed by the line manager
Candidate Requirements
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Carpentry & Joinery, or equivalent
- Competent in manual tool handling
- Confident in the safe use of ladders
- Strong understanding of safe working practices
