Mechanical Engineer - Water Sector
12 Month Contract | Hybrid | South East Preferred

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy delivering innovative infrastructure projects within the UK water sector. You will join a multi-disciplinary design team working on complex water and wastewater projects, supporting the delivery of major UK infrastructure programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or coordinate a team of Mechanical Engineers delivering design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects

• Produce and review technical deliverables including design reports, calculations, drawings and scopes of work

• Deliver mechanical design solutions across pumping systems and water/wastewater treatment facilities

• Collaborate with project management teams to meet project milestones, budgets and programmes

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers

• Support bid proposals and technical submissions

• Ensure compliance with UK design standards, legislation and quality assurance processes

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer preferred

• Proven experience delivering mechanical design within the water sector

• Strong knowledge of pumps, blowers, screens and chemical dosing systems

• Understanding of UK design standards, CDM and DSEAR

• Experience working within multi-disciplinary engineering teams

• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills

Contract Details

• Minimum 12-month contract

• Hybrid working available

• Candidates ideally based in the South East
