We are supporting our reputable production client with identifying a permanent Purchasing/Stores Assistant to join their facility in Washington.

This is a newly created role working closely with the Purchaser and the Stores Manager. There is good variety to this opportunity and would suit a candidate with purchasing and some store experience. Experienced with Microsoft Office and has previously used MRP or ERP systems.

Hours are Monday to Thursday 7am - 3.45pm and Friday 7am - 2pm

Main duties:-

  • Preparing and Processing of Purchase orders to existing and new suppliers for materials, tooling, consumables and services required
  • Maintaining a database of approved suppliers and obtaining required information and certification for set up of new suppliers
  • Assisting Accounts department in processing Proforma invoices and resolving invoicing queries
  • Expediting overdue orders with suppliers
  • Assisting stores with Good-in processing and any discrepancies raised.
  • Assist with Kitting of Works Orders.
  • To pick, pack and despatch spare parts and accessories, ensuring OTD is achieved
  • To kit works orders for production builds and release to shop floor in a timely manner
  • To prepare finished units for shipment, pack as per given specification/requirement
  • Assisting in Perpetual Inventory checks, investigating and correct any stock errors.
  • Take part in periodic full inventory checks in accordance with stock take instructions.
  • To maintain the highest level of housekeeping at all times and strict adherence to all HSE requirements.
  • To raise a quality concern for any non-conforming material / specification / HSE incidents / near misses.
