Job Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of defence and plant machinery and equipment at our service centre at Larkhall.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal operational performance.
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new plant equipment.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in training programmes to stay updated with the latest technical developments.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to improve service processes and equipment reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in servicing and maintaining plant machinery or heavy industrial equipment.
  • Relevant technical qualifications, such as NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical issues clearly to clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to plant machinery and workshop environments.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and computer-based maintenance systems.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential
  • HGV Licence - beneficial
  • Experience with LOLER and PUWER Legislation
