A transport planning and highways consultancy is seeking a Transport Planner or Senior Transport Planner to join its growing team in Birmingham. This role is part of a newly established office, offering the opportunity to play a key part in its development and long-term success.
The business provides an integrated approach to transport planning and highways design, supporting a wide range of public and private sector clients across development and infrastructure projects throughout the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner looking to progress their career within a collaborative and growing consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of Transport Assessments and Transport Statements
- Development and coordination of Travel Plans
- Preparation of technical reports, drawings, and supporting data
- Junction capacity assessments using ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG
- Liaison with clients, contractors, and local authorities
- Delivery of high-quality outputs on time and within budget
- Review and checking of junior team outputs
- Support and mentoring of junior staff
- Contribution to project delivery from feasibility through to detailed design
- Site visits, surveys, and data collection
- Preparation of written reports and presentations
- Maintaining accurate project documentation
- Supporting the growth of the Birmingham office
Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering or related discipline
- 2-5 years UK Transport Planning experience
- CIHT membership (or working towards)
Technical Skills:
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Strong numerical and analytical ability
- Experience with ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG (essential/desirable)
- AutoCAD experience (desirable)
