Materials Handler- FLT Counterbalance

Location: Heysham, Morecambe
Pay Rate: £13.20 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00

About the Role
Manpower are currently recruiting for a reliable and detail-oriented Materials Handler to join a busy operations team in Heysham, Morecambe. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with warehouse or logistics experience who is looking to work in a structured and safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, unpack, and accurately book in goods using the JD Edwards (JDE) system
  • Carry out relevant JDE transactions as required
  • Store bulk and pre-pack materials in the correct hazard-designated warehouses
  • Pick stock for repack orders and return unused materials to the correct locations
  • Conduct cycle counts in line with work instructions
  • Investigate and resolve "Not on Location" (NOL) discrepancies
  • Pick and prepare UK and export shipments using provided pick lists
  • Report any damaged or unacceptable items
  • Follow all packing and labelling instructions in line with transport regulations
  • Support export shipment preparation, ensuring accuracy and completion of documentation
  • Work with third-party systems (e.g. courier services, MSDS documentation)
  • Safely handle fine chemicals in line with Chemical Exposure Management (CEM) regulations
  • Maintain adequate stock levels of consumables and raise requisitions when needed
  • Operate equipment following appropriate training and report any faults
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with site security policies

  • Adhere to environmental, quality (EMS/QMS), and health & safety standards at all times
  • Follow all procedures to minimise environmental impact and ensure product quality
  • Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives

About You

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or materials handling role is desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
  • Comfortable working with computer systems (experience with JDE is advantageous)
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good problem-solving skills, particularly in stock control and discrepancies
  • Committed to maintaining high safety and compliance standards
  • FLT License is required for this role
