School Caretaker

Location: Brigend
Hours: Full time. 5.15 am - 1.15 pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £14.14 per hour

Contract: Temporary

The Role

As School Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, security and presentation of the school premises. You will play an important role in ensuring the site is safe, compliant and operating efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Opening and closing the school site
• Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs
• Ensuring the school grounds are clean, tidy and well-maintained
• Conducting health and safety checks such as legionella, fire alarm testing etc
• Monitoring contractors whilst on site
• Setting up rooms for meetings, events and school activities
• Reporting maintenance issues and larger repairs

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Have previous caretaking, facilities, maintenance or site management experience
• Be practical and confident carrying out basic repairs and maintenance tasks
• Have a good understanding of health and safety responsibilities
• Be organised, reliable and able to work independently
• Possess good communication skills and a positive approach
• Be flexible to support the needs of the school

• Weekly pay (PAYE)
• This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. Manpower covers the cost of the DBS.
• The role offers an immediate start date subject to the above.
