Temporary Ongoing Position
We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative with experience in operating articulated trucks to join our team in Southwick, Sunderland. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience operating articulated trucks and a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining productivity, quality standards, and the smooth running of our warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Achieve set targets and performance standards to meet departmental goals
- Operate print and lamination machines, ensuring smooth operation
- Unload and verify raw materials, matching delivery manifests with goods received
- Manage stock, including locating raw materials, issuing, and handling returns
- Ensure proper disposal of waste, using a bailer and wrapping onto pallets
- Maintain high levels of warehouse cleanliness and organisation
- Conduct daily safety checks on forklift trucks, maintaining accurate records
- Assist with inventory checks and stock management
- Continuously seek improvements in productivity, efficiency, and waste reduction
Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:- Adhere to company health and safety guidelines and statutory legislation
- Maintain high hygiene and housekeeping standards during shifts
- Contribute to reducing environmental impact through waste reduction initiatives
- Support quality standards by identifying areas for process improvement
Skills & Experience:- Valid Forklift License (minimum of 1 year's experience)
- flexi/bendi/pivot steer forklift license
- Proficient in stock entry using computer systems
- Experience completing vehicle safety checks
- Ability to verify delivery manifests and ensure accuracy
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a proactive approach to work
- Good team player with effective communication skills
- Excellent timekeeping and attendance record
- High safety awareness and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
