Transport Planner
Location: West Thurrock, RM20 3AG
Shifts: 4 on 4 off, 07:00 until 19:00
Pay Rate: £15.57

We're looking for a highly organised and proactive Fleet Planner to join our team. Working a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (07:00-19:00), you'll play a vital role in planning and coordinating the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of goods for one of our key customers.

Our client is a third-party provider of transportation and logistics services that offers a range of services from, Drayage, Global freight forwarding & Full truckload transport. The company is committed to environmental sustainability and works with customers to create action plans to reduce emissions.

What you'll do on a typical day:

• The planning of all shipments for our customer within the time frames set by the SLA
• Planning of XPO core fleet resource across all sites, with full use of TMS and Paragon optimisation software
• Subcontractor planning, allocating all work through TMS ensuring haulier partners confirm jobs assigned to them with correct cost allocation
• Representing the Planning Team in the daily Ops calls.
• Updating the Customer Services team in an accurate and timely manner ensuring that all information relating to 'at risk' or 'failed' loads is shared.
• Ensure all collections are planned and updated accordingly.
• Proactively plan any urgent orders and communicate the delivery date to the customer.
• Ensure the customer is notified in a timely manner of any date changes/ failed orders including reasons why, ensuring they are re-dated and re-planned ASAP
• Ensure all core fleet is allocated, ensuring all fleet utilisation targets are exceed daily
• Immediate escalation to the supervisor for any non-conformance to the daily plan

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• It's important you have exposure of working in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience within transport and a good understanding of compliance and driver hours would be beneficial
