High Level Summary:
This is an exciting role with our client based in the Cambridge UK office. You will be part of a key Boards engineering team developing hardware for Network cards, which are used for cloud and hyperscale data centre operators and for AMD's AI systems
We are looking to hire a Test Engineer/Technician who can:
- Assist on assembling, testing and commissioning Production Test Fixtures to test PCIe Network cards. This may require limited soldering required for assembling cable harnesses used in the fixtures.
- Support release of production firmware to the manufacturing site by running candidate release on the Test fixtures as per an agreed test plan.
- Support Design Validation, debug of Network cards under supervision of other team members.
XJTAG is used for low level production testing and standard PC Chassis with a set of test cards is used for Functional Testing. The candidate is expected to wire up the fixture, update documentation and carry out test/commissioning. The candidate is expected to support testing of firmware to ensure it runs properly on the test fixtures. The candidate is also expected to support design validation, measurement and testing under supervision of other team members.
It should be noted that this role has a hardware focus and requires the candidate to be 5 days on site. No travel is anticipated in this role.
High Level Skills requirement.
- Understanding of Complex Electronics with focus on networking
- Familiarity with RS232 Communications
- Ability to read schematics, PCB Layouts
- Good understanding of system level testing.
- Ability to create documentation using MS-Word and read/modify test plans in Excel.
- Use test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, signal generators, etc.)
- Exposure to Linux and Windows.
- Ability to solder
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with Networking - Ethernet Standards, PRBS, 100G-CR2/100G-CR4, PCIe
- Familiarity with C programming and Python Scripting
