Job Title: Environmental Manager - Major Infrastructure

Location: UK Wide
Contract Type: Contract (Inside IR35, via Umbrella only)
Duration: Ongoing long-term project

We are looking for an experienced Environmental Manager to join a major UK infrastructure programme. This role will suit someone with a strong understanding of environmental management within large-scale construction and infrastructure settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide environmental assurance across project activities, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and environmental commitments.

  • Review and advise on design and construction methodologies from an environmental perspective.

  • Support the development and implementation of environmental management plans.

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, contractors, and internal teams on environmental matters.

  • Monitor, manage, and report on performance in areas such as noise, water, ecology, and landscape.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in environmental management on major infrastructure or construction projects.

  • Strong understanding of the UK's regulatory and legislative framework relating to large infrastructure schemes.

  • Membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g. IEMA, CIWEM, CIEEM, or similar).

  • Technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

    • Landscape

    • Noise attenuation

    • Water Framework Directive / water management

    • Ecology

    • Soil management
