Field Service Engineer - BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems)

Are you an experienced Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity in the renewable energy sector? We are seeking skilled BESS Field Service Engineers to join our growing team across multiple regions. This is a dynamic role where you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning, and repair of cutting-edge energy storage systems at various BESS sites.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and reactive repairs on BESS units.
✅ Carry out system software and firmware upgrades.
✅ Monitor system performance, analyze data, and provide remote diagnostics.
✅ Provide technical support to customers via phone and on-site visits.
✅ Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
✅ Manage spare parts and complete administrative tasks such as job logs and timesheets.
✅ Work closely with the in-house engineering team, offering insights for product improvement.

Essential Requirements:

✔️ Qualification in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical discipline.
✔️ Previous experience in electrical or multi-skilled maintenance.
✔️ Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, IP networking, troubleshooting software).
✔️ Certification in Site Safety practices.
✔️ Willingness to travel to different sites, including overnight stays and potential international travel.

Preferred:

➕ Experience working with BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems).
➕ Knowledge of HV/LV power electronics, inverters, converters, and transformers.
➕ HVAC training and F-Gas qualification.
➕ Strong understanding of IT networks, remote desktop connections, MODBUS/TCP protocols.
➕ C&G 2391-5 Test & Inspect or equivalent.
➕ Familiarity with BS7671 and HV authorisation.
