Offshore Wind Estimator - Offshore Substation (Topside & Substructure)

  • Location: Remote, with infrequent travel to Ireland.
  • Hours: 15 hours weekly.
  • Rate: Negotiable
  • Inside IR35


Are you experienced in estimating costs for offshore substations and passionate about renewable energy projects? Our client, a leading organisation in the offshore wind sector, is hiring a dedicated OSW Estimator to support their exciting projects. This role offers flexible remote working with occasional travel to Ireland, starting ASAP and running until August 2026.

What you'll be doing:
* Producing high-quality class 3 CAPEX estimates for offshore substations, including topside and substructure components (jackets, monopiles, floating foundations).
* Developing cost models for HV/EHV substations (275kV / 400kV / 132kV), grid connection works, cable routes, and transmission reinforcement projects.
* Supporting FEED, tendering, detailed design, and procurement decisions with robust, benchmarked cost estimates.
* Evaluating installation methodologies and modelling associated costs, considering supply chain and market conditions.
* Collaborating with engineering teams to define scope, quantities, and equipment lists, interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
* Maintaining market intelligence on fabrication, manufacturing, and installation costs to ensure accurate budgeting and risk assessment.

What you'll bring:
* Proven experience in cost estimating for offshore substations, topside, and substructure projects.
* Strong understanding of offshore wind infrastructure, HV/EHV systems, and grid connection works.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and develop detailed cost models.
* Knowledge of installation methodologies and supply chain dynamics.
* Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
