Brook Street is working on behalf of a well?established and highly respected consumer products organisation who are looking to recruit for a Product Technologist, within their Decorations & Gifts department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional to support the delivery of safe, compliant and high?quality products across a diverse and growing product range.

The Role

  • Salary on offer: £38,000- £40,000
  • Full time perm position
  • Monday to Friday
  • Location: Bradford, BD4
  • Core hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm or 9:00am - 5:00pm

This role sits within the supply chain function and focuses on ensuring decorations and gift products are safe, compliant and fit for the UK and EU market.

In this position, you'll support products from early concept through to production and sale, helping to ensure they meet all required safety, quality and legal standards. You'll work closely with teams across design, product development, buying and supply chain, providing clear technical advice and helping manage risk throughout the product lifecycle.

This is a hands?on role where attention to detail, good judgement and collaboration are key.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting design and buying teams with technical advice from concept to production
  • Checking product specifications, artwork and packaging to make sure safety information is correct and compliant
  • Completing product risk assessments, covering materials and physical risks
  • Reviewing third?party test reports and confirming products meet legal and internal standards
  • Keeping technical files and compliance documents accurate and up to date
  • Helping colleagues understand product safety requirements through guidance and training
  • Supporting supplier approval and ongoing compliance reviews alongside Buyers
  • Investigating quality issues and customer complaints to identify improvements
  • Keeping up to date with regulatory changes and sharing relevant updates
  • Working with overseas teams, suppliers, testing labs and external consultants when needed
  • Supporting the wider technical team as required


The ideal candidate must have the following:

  • Experience in a Technologist, Product Compliance or similar role
  • Background in retail, consumer goods or manufacturing
  • A good understanding of UK and EU product safety requirements
  • Confidence working with different materials, products and manufacturing processes
  • Experience reviewing test reports and technical documentation
  • Ability to carry out risk assessments and make sound, evidence?based decisions
  • Organised, methodical and comfortable managing multiple priorities
  • Clear communication skills and confidence working with different teams
  • A proactive attitude and genuine interest in product safety and quality
