We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a world class semiconductor manufacturer operating a state-of-the-art facility in Newport, South Wales. As the site continues to expand with advanced technologies and investment in new engineering capabilities, they are seeking skilled and driven individuals to support critical chemical and gas systems that keep the FAB operating at the highest standards.

This is a key role within the site's Chemical & Gas team, ensuring all chemical and gas supply systems operate safely, efficiently, and without interruption to production.

As a Total Chemical Management Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting chemical dispensing equipment, specialist gas panels, and key supply systems essential for semiconductor manufacturing.

Contract Type: Temp to Perm
Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 + shift allowance (30%)

Shift Patterns
12 hour shifts. Days: 7am-7pm
Week 1: Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue
Week 2: Sun, Mon, Tue

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all machinery, panels and cabinets are properly maintained and kept in excellent working order.
  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on Chemical Dispensing Machinery and Spec Gas panels/cabinets.
  • Carry out scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PMs) on assigned equipment.
  • Maintain uninterrupted supply of gases and chemicals to prevent production tool downtime.
  • Provide responsive support to the FAB regarding any chemical or gas related issues.


Essential Skills

  • Experience and a minimum BTEC qualification in an engineering related discipline
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Desire to learn and progress within chemical and gas maintenance
  • Experience working with pressurised pumps or systems
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • Self-motivation, strong initiative, and a solid work ethic


Desirable Skills

  • Chemical handling awareness and understanding
  • Clean-room experience
  • Knowledge of gas and chemical requirements within a manufacturing environment
  • IOSH training
  • Background as a Technician or in an engineering?focused role
