Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm)
Salary: £35,019 per annum

About the Role
Manpower is currently recruiting on behalf of one of our valued clients within the property services sector. We're looking for an experienced Flooring Fitter to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Repairs & Maintenance Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for completing both responsive and planned maintenance tasks across a portfolio of residential properties.

This is a varied role that will include floor fitting, general maintenance, and basic decorating, so we're seeking someone confident in their trade and flexible in their approach.

Key Responsibilities

Flooring Installation & Repairs

  • Cleaning and preparing existing flooring surfaces
  • Clearing work areas of furniture and doors as needed
  • Preparing subfloors, applying levelling compound when necessary
  • Cutting and fitting underlay and flooring (carpet, vinyl, laminate, and wood)
  • Using methods such as gluing, stretching, taping, stitching or heat-sealing
  • Removing old flooring and disposing of it appropriately
  • Replacing or re-hanging doors and moving furniture back into place


Painting & Decorating

  • Surface preparation (scraping, sanding, steam cleaning)
  • Removing wallpaper and flaking paint
  • Filling cracks or holes and sanding surfaces
  • Applying paint or wall coverings as required

General

  • Carry out groundwork repairs and other maintenance tasks as required
  • Provide cover for colleagues and support on-the-job training
  • Attend team meetings and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure compliance with company processes and data protection policies


What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in flooring installation and maintenance
  • Additional skills in painting, decorating, or general maintenance are desirable
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and to a high standard
  • A full UK driving licence may be required due to the nature of the role
